Online Music Lessons

There are many benefits available to you through the online teaching environment. My students and I became aware of this as the Pandemic set in and we were “forced” to go online. Everyone stayed with me and together we discovered the power of online learning.

What we discovered is that we had just as much fun and, if anything, it sped up the learning process.

How?…Well, the biggest factor was that I asked folks to keep paper and pencil handy for note taking. It was so satisfying as folks grasp concepts and ideas more quickly as a direct result of guided and focused note taking. I’ve brought that into my in-person sessions as well.

Notably, I had 3 trumpeters from my Kenwood Band who were struggling and after 4 weekly 1/2 hour online sessions each was playing the instrument, reading notes and having fun. 

One on one online sessions that were consistent and fun made a huge difference for them.

Building trust, having fun and being productive are all possible in the online environment!
